Every year, teams from all over the world gather in Battle Mountain - Nevada, United States - for the World Human Powered Speed Challenge. This is the Formula 1 race of the cycling world. Each team is able to try to break the world speed record several times during this event. Battle Mountain is the optimal location for this: it is located on a plateau in the desert, at a altitude of 1400m. Due to the height, there is less air resistance, which helps us achieve top speeds. The sprint speed is measured over the last 200 meters of an 8 kilometers long, straight and flat road.
This year, the race is from the 10th to the 15th of September 2018 where we will be attacking the women's world record.
